Run for academic scholarships
The GD10K is a fun fitness event promoting the College Game Day ritual of "Tailgating". Participants are encouraged to come dressed in support of their favorite college team. All proceeds from this fundraising event will be gifted away in the form of academic college scholarships. This event is fully sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club and will have mandatory levels of excellence.

All proceeds from the race will be gifted away in form of college scholarships. The 4 schools with the most number of registered runners will be proportionately awarded the scholarship revenue. Scholarship winners will be announced at the start of the awards ceremony on race day.
No, all of the scholarship money does not go to WPPCGC. The 4 schools with the most number of registered runners will receive the scholarship proceeds. Dollar amount of the 4 scholarships will be proportionately distributed based on the registrations.
There will be a line on the registration form for you to designate which school you support. You can only vote for one school per registration. In 2017, there were 48 different colleges and universities represented. The Ohio State University, West Point Parents Club, University of Florida Alumni Club, and Florida State Sarasota Seminole Club had the highest number of votes.
Yes, strollers and walkers are welcomed to register, vote and participate in the 5K fun run. However, it is highly recommended that slower participants migrate to the back of the field so as not to hinder the safety of the faster runners.
Yes, of course there will be free pizza and beer after the GD10K.
